Irfan The second of four brothers in an Ajrakh printing family Irfan Anwar Khatri began to print when he was fifteen. Today, Irfan
works with international designers and takes his work to showrooms and Craft Melas all over India. Exposure has made Irfan eager
to develop his own work and enter the global marketplace. In 2004, he participated in Dastkari Haat Samiti’s Lotus Links, a
collaboration of artisans from India and Vietnam. He has developed computer skills, and produced a CD catalogue of his ajrakh
collections.
At Kala Raksha Vidhyalaya, Irfan’s clear and mature thinking was recognized and the students made him president of their class.
“I learned the relationship between paper concepts and actual work, I learned to develop themes. And especially, I learned how to
make a collection.”
