Juned belongs to a Khatri family of traditional Ajrakh printers, who relocated to Ajrakhpur after the 2001 earthquake. He began practical work while still in school at the age of 16, and has achieved good skills in both printing and dyeing. In addition, he learned the art of wooden block carving. Keen on increasing and improving the family business, Juned has taken technical training from
Illaben, a textile expert and inspiring teacher from Mumbai who has worked extensively with Ajrakh printers.
Juned is aware of the importance of quality and innovative designs to success in today’s market, and is eager to explore. I learned
to how to see… how to work in teams, and to work alone. I learned to focus and gained confidence.
