Dayalal's family originally were engaged with salt making in the village Mithi Rohar. When they migrated to Bhujodi village for
treatment of his father, Dayalal experienced the environment of his traditional art, and decided to learn weaving. At a very early age
he learned initial techniques from his brother in law. Later on, he continued to learn by his own experimentation. Dayalal attended
exhibitions at Shilpgram in Udaipur in 1998 and 2007. He traveled to Delhi several times to attend exhibitions. Post earthquake, he
had the opportunity to attend a 10 day design Yatra organized by FICCI - CARE. He has also attended entrepreneurship
development trainings organized by various government agencies.
Unusual in the community, Dayalal has taught his craft to his wife, and she helps him with routine work. For now, both work for a
weaving entrepreneur in Bhujodi. Dayalal has two dreams in his life. The first is to provide higher education to his son. The second
is to work as independent artisan in future. That is why he joined Kala Raksha Vidhyalaya even at middle age.
