Khetuben's family had farmland in their native village Manjar, and her parents sold vegetables in the local market.
She learned embroidery from her sister and her peers. After coming to Vandh, she joined Kala Raksha and has worked with the
NGO for 8 years.
Embroidery is flourishing, Khetuben says. Rabaris use both machine and hand work. But machine work is just for home use, to
save time—or for those who don’t know hand work. It is hand work that has a future. And she wants to go ahead.
