  Ramji says
“Our craft is the king of all jobs. Other jobs have no value in comparison with our craft.”

Ramji's original village is Ningal, in Anjar taluka, but he now resides in Sumarasar Sheikh, Bhuj taluka. His family has been associated with weaving for generations, but all of Ramji’s brothers have left their craft. Ramji decided to weave, due to his grandfather’s inspiration, “Our craft is the king of all jobs. Other jobs have no value in comparison with our craft.” Ramji’s grandfather was great believer in Gandhian philosophy. He sent Ramji to Sanjivani Uttar Buniyadi High School in Ratadiya village, in order to avail of an education based on Gandhian values. Here Ramji had opportunity to interact with noted Gandhians of Gujarat.

Ramjibhai has attended numerous exhibitions in Ahmedabad and Delhi organized by government organizations such as the Gujarat Wool and Sheep Development Corporation (Gushil). As an entrepreneur who is struggling to save his craft, Ramji understands the importance of the market. He prefers direct marketing to customers, particularly to international tourists. Ramji has a dream to start an NGO to support all crafts and craft persons of Kutch.
