Govind was supposed to take his S.S.C. examination, but he was not very interested in studies. On his father’s suggestion, he joined KRV instead. Govind had just begun to weave. His father is a good weaver, and the family employs ten weavers in their workshop. They mostly do job work. As weaving is their traditional business, Govind enjoys it. According to Govind, a good artisan is one who makes good designs and enjoys weaving. Govind’s aim is to learn from KRV and start making his own products instead of doing job work. Govind thinks that their craft will continue if new things are introduced to it. His father had dreamed to get an award for his craft. Govind wishes to weave such a shawl to earn the award for his father. He also longs to go abroad.
