Hiteshbhai's
grandfather lived in
Jaboodi and used to weave for Dhebaria Rabari people.
His father, Dayalalbhai left Jaboodi and came to Kukma
village where he wove for some time. He worked with
other weavers and participated in exhibitions in Delhi,
Bangalore, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad,
Mumbai, etc. but the exhibitions were not successful,
and due to a shortage of customers he left weaving
altogether and became a truck diver. Hitesh learned
weaving from his uncle, Murjibhai, who graduated from
Kala Raksha Vidhyalaya in 2008. Hithesh has joined Kala
Raksha Vidhyalaya to improve his weaving even more.
Hitesh has been weaving for three
years. He believes that to become a good weaver one
should keep learning new things, implement his learning,
and work honestly.
For good design, he thinks one should
translate whatever new concept he imagines using the
principles of design and colour schemes, and experiment
on it. He believes that the course at Kala Raksha
Vidhyalaya will be useful to him. Entering the
Vidhyalaya he began getting new ideas and inspirations.
According to Hiteshbhai, the future
of weaving is bright and the market is easily available.
The main problem he sees is of raw material. Hiteshbhai
longs to prosper in his weaving business and improve the
economic condition of his family.
